is that boromir?
is that boromir?
This is my dog JaegerMeister, but we just call her Jaeger for short.
She’s a beautiful 3.5 year old German Shepherd, who is the sweetest dog imaginable. She barks at strange people, protects us, and is an around amazing dog. She even helps with my severe social anxiety, and has been a godsend for both me and my dad.
But last night she was kicked or hit with a log by my drunk uncle. My uncle is a drunk who wanders around aimlessly peddling for money and ither things. Last night he jumped over our fence and tried to come in through the front door, before requesting a blanket. Jaeger stood by and barked her little head off.
Bu last night, he probably came back in the dead of night and tried to sleep on thr side of our house. And then hit her with either a log or a rock to get her to shutup.
We noticed what was wrong this morning.
And now we can’t afford to pay for a trip to the vet. It costs about thirty dollars just to get her looked at, and then a hundred and fifty dollars for one of the operations that she may have to have.
A splint for her tail, or she may even have to have it cut off if the break is too severe. Her spine may even be messed up, I don’t know and I’m fucking SCARED.
She can’t play or even run, and she can’t even wag her tail. All she can do right now is lay in her bed and look at us.
I know this post won’t even be given a second glance by many people, but please. We need $350 dollars to help her and get her to the vet ASAP. My father is a single parent and we can’t afford to help her.
We spent much of our money taking her to the vet in previous days for her lung infection, which we got assessed and dealt with.
Any and all donations will mean so much to me and will go to helping Jaeger. If you can’t donate, can I kindly ask that you reblog this post?
Jaeger needs help, and to do that you can donate here. Please tumblr, this dog means the world to me.
We’ve only had her for three weeks.

this is my friend. she could really use your help.
> > donate to jen’s fund < <
seeing my friend in this state does not feel real. i never thought something like this would happen to someone i know, let alone to my closest friend. looking at this picture is really painful for me, but her and her family’s wellbeing may depend on the kindness of friends and possibly strangers like you, so getting her story out there is really crucial. even if you don’t have money to give, if you you wouldn’t mind sharing this, maybe one of your followers will donate. that could really add up! i’ve seen other success stories on tumblr. please, please help me make my friend a success story. this is so real to me.
my friend, jenevieve kim, was hit by a car while biking home on georgia tech campus. the police report states that the accident was in a 25 mph zone and witnesses claimed she flew thirty feet from the car, yet the driver refuses to take responsibility (says it’s “her fault”) and is paying nothing. she can’t weigh in on this, of course, because she remembers nothing of the accident, which is understandable considering she has a cracked skull, internal head bleeding, a broken leg, ribs, and a cracked hip among other expensive injuries. the cost for keeping her alive is estimated to be over $15,000.
i’m so grateful she’s survived, but she’s still in pretty awful shape. plus, she doesn’t have insurance. and her family is struggling as it is and won’t be able to help her. (she was previously helping them financially. btw, she’s 20.) jen is the hardest worker i know, a selfless friend, and was previously paying her own way through college. she was forced to quit her music business internship (her dream job) next semester because of this and won’t be able to attend school at all for a long time.
my friend is on her own with all of this. but i decided it doesn’t have to be that way. life itself isn’t fair by any means (see above. did i mention this happened the week after her birthday? like holy shit), but regardless there are still good people in this world. as a community, we can do everything we can to even the score. please help me take this off my friend’s plate so she can heal.
if you could consider sharing this with your followers or friends, jen’s loved ones and supporters will be forever grateful. every person who shares this will be personally thanked. i don’t care if this reaches a thousand notes (which i doubt), every kind stranger who supports my friend in any way deserves a personal thank you.
also, every single person who donates will receive a handmade gift. i don’t care if you’re all the way in korea. you will receive a handmade token of appreciation. there’s been 99 donators thus far; i (and a few of our friends) already started making a few things. they’ll be really cool, promise!
if you have any fundraising suggestions, words of encouragement, or would like to help in any way please feel free to contact me. thank you sincerely for taking the time to read jen’s story, and thank you to my followers, who will no doubt hear about this story for quite some time, for being so patient. i realize i was almost exclusively a k/j-horror blog previously, which makes this a bit more surreal for me.
thanks! please signal boost!

Saw this somewhere else and felt the need to post it cause no one else ever really tells you this stuff
My mom never really noticed. She noticed when she was breast feeding my little brother and blood started coming out instead of milk.
My mom said she felt and saw a little lump in the shower. She was lucky enough she found it at stage 2
My mom had a mammogram. The radiologist thought the spots were just regular calcium deposits.
Turns out it was triple negative breast cancer that had spread to her lymph nods. Mastectomy, radiation and chemo saved her life.
This could SAVE a life.
dont be embarrassed to reblog, this post could be life saving
Signal BOOST and pass it on. I had a breast cancer scare before (luckily it was just scar tissue…) and information like this kept me calm and collected at the doc’s.
As a cancer patient myself, who found my own cancer through a supposed LARPing injury last year, i know how scary it is and how important it is to catch it early. Please spread this around!

I’m here if any of you need to talk<3
Ok Dr. Phil’s wife, Robin, (yes groan, but listen up) has this new app out (iPhone and Android) that’s for people in abusive relationships. It’s called Aspire News and it’s disguised as a regular news app, but when you go to the “Help” section of the app, it leads you to domestic violence resources and also has a “Go Button” that when you press it, if you’re in a compromising situation, alerts local authorities as well as local shelters and starts recording everything that is going on.
Now, if you’re looking up resources on the app and your abuser is near, simply press the X button and it brings you to a random news page. Same goes for the actual foundation site.
ITS COMPLETELY FREE
SPREAD THIS, DONT JUST “LIKE IT”
I don’t talk about it a lot, but I grew up in an environment where I did see abuse take place. It’s not something that should be treated as “normal” or “no one else’s business.” I can’t testify that this is a good app, but I can testify that this is a real problem and it’s hellacious to grow up in.
DO. NOT. DO. THIS.
Seriously, do not do this. In no manner of speaking should you do this.
That is a photo of a glow stick in a Mountain Dew bottle.
Baking soda and peroxide creates a corrosive, and adding it to a carbonated drink will cause it to explode. It eats through solid concrete.
DO NOT DO THIS.
left out all the annoying happy responses to give you this PSA
I laugh untii I cry everytime I watch this video and it’s been a while since it’s been on my dash so here

or, you know, teach people not to rape other people…
Sadly, even if you teach people not to rape, they’ll do it anyway if they really want to, so these are still helpful in the event of rape, OR assault.
These self defense tips are not here to tell a person not to get raped, they are here to tell a person what to do in the event where someone is attempting to rape or assault them.
We do need to teach people not to rape, but we do not yet live in a world where rape and assault does not happen, and until we do, it’s important that we know how to protect ourselves in the event that it does happen.
Someone get tumblr user shinjaninja a medal.
This is something that some Navy SEALs taught girls in my gym class in high school. But there’s another rather effective (and kinda cool) tactic to use.
They used myself (A tall kid at the time, not very big but rather tall) and a rather skinny, tiny short girl for a demonstration. They had me grab the girl’s neck from behind—as pictured in the bottom left—and keep her in a tight headlock. Then the SEALs instructed the girl to drop to one knee and allow gravity to flip me over her shoulder onto my fucking head.
That’s right. No matter how small you might be, or how big and strong your attacker is, you can shift their center of gravity against them and flip them over shoulder with little to no effort on your part, allowing you time to land a blow and get the fuck out of there. And ever since then, I’ve taught my female friends that trick if time and circumstance ever allowed.
Stay safe, ladies.
Imma add another tip:
Pointer and middle finger right under the jaw and push up. Try it, it hurts like hell, and it will get them to lift their head up at which point you can kick or elbow loose.
That one, and under the nose, too. Place your thumb under it, and shove upward. They’ll either back off out of reflex, or you’ll break their nose. Plus, it will shatter their concentration, and they won’t be able to keep a grip on you, which will let you get loose, and give you an opportunity to either escape, or employ another tactic.
Everyone needs to see this. Spread it
